Janis Cultural Cafe’ -The most stylish bistro-cafe’-bar in town! Description A. HISTORY, DECORATIVE STYLE, THE GENERAL ATMOSPHERE Janis Cultural Café is located on the first floor of a stately historic building raised in the nineteenth century in a classical-eclectic style, less than 100 meters from the Unirii Square, the „kilometer 0” of Cluj, the city’s largest pedestrian street. The interior design complies with the building’s style while the optimistic and (positive) bourgeois atmosphere specific to the famous Belle Époque is to be found in full, in harmony with decorative and utilitarian-technological contemporary elements. The four separate rooms are devoted, as far as the decorative theme is concerned, to cultural-historical topics closely related to the message and the general atmosphere of Janis Cultural Café. Thus, the main room has a graphic and painting collection with Cluj images from the nineteenth and early twentieth century, an impressive library of good books available to the public, a grand tiled stove, a Viennese piano and eclectic, cheerful, contemporary furniture. Another room is dedicated to cinema, and the guests can „sink” in the comfortable leather armchairs while enjoying a gallery of photographs of the world cinema’s crème de la crème, famous actors and movies. Other two rooms are dedicated to music and the walls enjoy the touch of great personalities in postwar music through photography. B. THE CLIENTELE Janis Cultural Café boasts with an ethnically and racially heterogeneous clientele, demanding and culturally homogeneous, belonging certainly to the intelligentsia, usually the budding one (young people, students). Thanks to all its attributes, Janis Cultural Café is popular and visited both by the locals and the many foreigners who are in town for various reasons (tourists, residents). C. THE MUSIC Janis Cultural Café offers a selection of „cult” ambient music (as opposed to the commercial one), mainly modern, postwar, from all major genres. Like in all Janis Group premises, the music is played exclusively in a video format, which is just another way of creating a warm, friendly, lively general atmosphere, to which we invariably aim in order to fully meet our select clientele’s needs. Facebook D. THE SEATING CAPACITY Janis Cultural Café has approximately 140 seats, of which approximately 25 in the non- smoking room. The café’s capacity and structure make it an ideal place for meetings of various kinds, cocktails and receptions. E.
