Casa Tauffer este singura cafenea exclusiv de jazz si blues din oras, deschisă în 2010, amplasată in cladirea monument istoric in care la sf. sec XVIII funcționa primul sediu (neoficial, desigur) al masoneriei iosefine (radicale), iar mai apoi primul salon literar (de limba germană) din Cluj. Acum e o cafenea clasic-boemă şi prietenoasă, cu TERASĂ (cât permite vremea), în care se pot NON- STOP cere (din Meniul Muzical), asculta si vedea (formatul e exclusiv video) piese si concerte de jazz, blues şi șansonete, inclusiv prestații LIVE! Pentru deplina dvs. relaxare mai avem si narghilele, presă culturală şi cotidiană, WI-FI și jocuri de şah, table, rummy, cărţi etc. And last but not least, o excelentă MÂNCARE! Meniurile de muzică, mâncare si băutură pot fi lesne accesate pe pagina de Facebook. Cafeneaua are o capacitate de 110 locuri în interior (dintre care aproximativ 35 pentru nefumători) și aproximativ 100 de locuri pe terasă, poziționată în zona pietonală în timpul sezonului cald.

The only jazz and blues café in Cluj, opened in the summer of 2010, is housed in a beautiful historical building raised in the late eighteenth century by Baron Banffy, the governor of Transylvania, for a family of German luxury upholsterers named Tauffer. Initially brought to Sibiu by Baron Samuel von Brukental and later summoned to Cluj, they not only embellished the palaces of the refined governor with their art, but also organized and inspired the Josephine (radical) Masonic movement, which had its first (unofficial, of course) headquarters in this house, only a few meters from the most important memorial house of Cluj, the Matei House, where the king of Hungary, Matthias Corvinus, was born. The decor is classic, friendly, unpretentious, based on warm and genuine features, from the parquetry and (mostly) solid oak furniture to the many objects that lend this venue a specific decorative, unmistakable theme (an impressive collection of musical instruments, photographs, posters, jazz-blues themed paintings), while the general atmosphere takes you emotionally and sensorially to a café in Paris or even New Orleans, home of jazz and blues.
